A Scent Journey Through North America

Every creation begins the same way — with a place that quietly stole our hearts. We follow the smaller roads and wild landscapes across North America, letting the land speak first.

From there, each creation unfolds slowly: through botanical discoveries, conversations with the people who grow them, and the slow, joyful work of scents layering.

Come with us into the heart of the process — a living conversation between earth, hands, and time.
One that's never rushed. Only released when it is ready.

The Places

The Open Road

We start where the pavement ends. A dusty trail through Arizona’s canyons at first light. The salt-kissed wind along the Maine coast. A narrow path winding into the Canadian boreal forest after a soft summer rain.

These are the moments that move us — the first deep breath into a scenic new environment we had never set foot before. We travel lightly, only with a notebook, a camera, and an open mind. Letting the landscape help us find the starting thread of each story.

No maps, no deadlines. The simple joy of being there, fully present, falling in love with the contrasting scenes and the scents of the wild. This is where every creation is born — months before it leaves our studio.

Meeting the Keepers

From the road we find our way to the people who know the land most intimately. Independent farmers and artisans scattered on these remote lands. The ones who rise at dawn to tend wild sage before the sun becomes too blazingly hot. The ones who harvest the Labrador Tea with patient hands so it will fully regenerate and grow stronger next year. Who drives 150 miles at dawn to gather Sweetfern in the short 6 weeks the season say it’s right.

We walk with them under open skies, sharing stories and offering a helping hand in equal measure. We listen as they speak of the plant’s needs and natural rhythm, the passions that drew them to their craft, and all the daily rituals that keep the land generous and nurture their team spirit. Their hard work and dedication amaze us.

Together, we discuss the project and choose the botanicals that will feel specially alive and true in the story we'll be telling. Every plant that was gathered with care, transformed in its purest essence form, is gently handed back to us — a partnership rooted in mutual excitement for what's to come.

Layers of Discovery

Back in our studio in Lac Mégantic, a new kind of magic begins to breathe. We open the small bundles of the natural essences we received — Snakeweed, Sweetfern, Labrador Tea. Then the slow, joyful work of layering begins. This is where every creation truly comes alive — through a gentle, months-long conversation between the botanicals themselves.
Here is how the layers unfold:

First, we listen.

We spend days getting to know each new essence intimately — smelling them in the morning, at day's end, in the open air, and in stillness. We let them tell us their stories: the places, the moments they awaken, and the emotions they carry.

Next, we let the land speak as one.
We begin by pairing essences from the same region, letting them sit together and see if we can paint a faithful portrait of the landscape they came from — a boreal grove, a desert canyon, a misty coast.

Then we invite surprise.

We start to play, softly introducing a note from here and there in the United States or Canada. Sometimes two plants separated by thousands of miles meet and something entirely new appears — like this robust Balsam Fir and delicately aery East Coast birch who found each other and decided to bloom into Wild Rose. A third scent, born from the first two, that no one could have predicted.

These are the moments we live for.

We compose with care.
We add our own perfume accords to highlight, lift, or deepen specific aspects of each creation — helping it reach its fullest and most distinctive expression. Our mission: uncovering scents that are layered, alive, and impossible to find anywhere else.

We invite our Circle.

The first scent samples leave the studio. Our Circle members test them blindly — unknown to them the essences they are testing, sharing their honest feelings, letting the scents speak for themselves.

Finally, the winners become real.
We choose the scents that moved hearts the most. This is the culmination of the unfolding: months of patient discovery, and falling in love with the scents that wowed us. The ones that will transform people's homes.

The Quiet Craft

Once the perfume has found its voice, we turn to making. We produce the first small batch in our studio. The ingredients are gathered and measured slowly, the essences incorporated with care.

We let the blends rest and marry for two weeks, allowing the perfume molecules to bind together so the formulation becomes softer and more luminous. Then comes the labeling — we seal the creation into its simple, beautiful vessel. By hand, we write the batch number and the date it was made on each bottle.

It is then that a deep gratitude settles in: knowing that every element has been planned, nurtured, harvested, blended, designed and tested by so many hands — those of the growers, the artisans, the members of the Circle, and our own. Knowing that each essence is traced back to its native soil and carries the name of the person who harvested it.

A new batch is born. The studio fills with the scent of possibility, and we feel the same quiet satisfaction a painter feels when the last brushstroke is placed.

The Moment of Becoming

And so the journey gently circles back to you. After months of careful work — the journeys, the keepers, the slow maturation of the rare botanical oils, the scents discovery, the prototypes and the Circle insights — there comes a moment when everything settles.

A scent finds its final shape. It is no longer just a collection of ingredients. It becomes something alive, layered, and ready. This is the moment of becoming: when a scent is ready to leave the studio and begin its own quiet life in the world. It now joins the collection.
